Adventure Acres is a family run farm that consists of over 76 acres of land that is filled with a plethora of festival concepts all wrapped into one place. This farm has everything from corn mazes, pumpkin patches, pirate ships, cow trains, hay rides, fire pits, and more. Just recently added to their farm of fun this year is a petting zoo, filled with animals that people have the chance to pet and feed.
The corn mazes of Adventure Acres is the primary attraction that is responsible for putting this farm on the map. Officially, this place is known for having the largest corn mazes in all of Ohio. These corn mazes are 8.5 miles, and with four very unique mazes, each one breaks down to an average of at least two miles. Each one of these labyrinth size mazes is filled with the most confusing twists and turns that a person has ever experienced. What makes these mazes all the more special in their shape and size are the designs that they were created in. From a few miles up photographs were taken of the corn mazes in order for visitors to understand exactly what their maze looks like. The faces of some visitors says it all, when they realize that these mazes are designed to depict a particular scene or concept of the fall season in great detail. In one of the mazes, there is a design featuring an Ohio State University and Michigan University football player catching a football. On top of this design is the OSU logo, and at the bottom is the MU logo. This is just one of the four amazing designs this family has come up with, making their mazes all the more unique. As a helpful gesture to their visitors, the family has provided watchtowers for them to stand on for a number of reasons. For many, they use it as a way to plan their exit strategy through the mind-boggling twists and turns. Others, it has served as a way to find their group after they've become separated by going right when they should have gone left. The rest have used it as a place to watch as they observe their group intently trying to figure out this massive maze. For many onlookers it has served as a great place to take pictures and create memories to laugh about at a later date.
The pumpkin patch is filled with hundreds of pumpkins for people to choose from. Though they inform visitors that the pumpkins may be weathered, visitors have never had a problem finding the pumpkins that would make their Halloween holiday complete. Each one of these pumpkins are lively bright with that orange color, their size is massive, and the price is just right. While kids go through the pumpkin patch, parents are able to sit and enjoy a seasonal favorite, a hot cup of apple cider.
From there, children are able to indulge their senses with the fun activities of the cow trains, pirate ship, and the petting zoo. The child size locomotive provides carts shaped in the fashion of cows that take children through a portion of the farm. They'll be able to see the entirely of the natural landscape along with the animals, pumpkin patch and more. The petting zoo is a new addition the Adventure Acres. Providing cows, horses, goats and more, children and parents are able to not only pet these lovable animals, but feed them as well. Following up on so much excitement is the playground pirate ship, which is fitted with slides. Here, children are able to do what they do best, imagine and create their own world of fun and adventure. They have the chance to run around as they imagine themselves as pirates of all the oceans searching for buried treasure, rescuing captured crew members, and having imaginary sword fights.
To put an end to the perfect day, everyone has the opportunity to take a relaxing hay ride. These rides are tractor pulled by the families tractors through the immense woods and forests that are nearby the farm. Passengers have the opportunity to sit peacefully as they take in all the beauty of the natural scenery. There's everything from the trickling sounds of the streams and rivers throughout the creeks, the larger than life trees covered in wonderful red, gold and orange leaves, and the favored fall breeze. Once the destination is reached, everyone is greeted by the fire pit and a warm, blazing fire. As visitors gather around the campfire, they have the chance to elaborate about the days events, all the while they roast marshmallows and hot dogs.
